Privacy Policy

This Policy explains what information NookSMP collects, why it is used, when it may be shared and the choices available to you across the website, Minecraft server, store and support channels.

01

Who this policy covers

This Policy applies to personal information handled by the operator of NookSMP through NookSMP services. It does not cover independent services operated by Microsoft, Mojang Studios, payment providers, community platforms or other third parties.

02

Information we collect

  • Account identifiers: Minecraft username, UUID, display name, rank and linked gameplay profile.
  • Connection information: IP address, connection time, server route, session history and security signals used to operate and protect the network.
  • Gameplay records: balances, Shards, items, transactions, auction activity, challenges, playtime, settings, social connections, deaths, combat events and other progression data.
  • Communications: public chat, private server messages where logged for safety, reports, moderation records, support emails and information you send to staff.
  • Purchase records: order identifier, Minecraft username, package, amount, currency, fulfilment status, refund or chargeback status. Full payment card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by NookSMP.
  • Website information: basic request logs, browser and device information, pages requested, approximate location inferred from IP and essential security data generated by the hosting provider.
03

How information is collected

Information is collected when you connect, play, chat, change settings, make a purchase, contact support or otherwise interact with the services. Some records are generated automatically by Minecraft server software, security systems, plugins, hosting infrastructure and transaction providers.

We may receive information from payment and community providers when needed to fulfil an order, investigate misuse or answer a request.

04

Why we use information

  • Provide accounts, gameplay, progression, social features and support.
  • Deliver purchases, maintain transaction ledgers and prevent duplicate fulfilment.
  • Detect cheating, fraud, abuse, security incidents and economy manipulation.
  • Moderate content, enforce rules, investigate reports and hear appeals.
  • Maintain backups, diagnose faults, plan capacity and improve the services.
  • Meet legal, accounting, consumer protection and dispute resolution obligations.

Where a legal basis is required, processing is based on performance of our agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, consent where requested, or compliance with law.

05

Cookies and local storage

The current website does not use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural tracking. Essential hosting, security or preference technologies may be used where needed to serve the site, prevent abuse or remember a choice you make. If optional analytics or marketing technologies are added, this Policy and any required consent controls will be updated first.

06

When information is shared

We may share the minimum necessary information with hosting, database, security, payment, storefront, email and community service providers acting for us. Providers may only use the information for the contracted service and subject to their own legal obligations.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect a person or the service, to investigate fraud or abuse, in connection with a business transfer, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information or player profiles.

07

International processing

Some providers may process information outside Australia, including in countries where cloud, payment or communications infrastructure is located. Privacy protections may differ between countries. We take reasonable steps to select reputable providers and protect information during cross-border handling where required.

08

Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected. Active account and gameplay records are generally kept while the service operates. Security, moderation, financial and transaction records may be kept longer to prevent evasion, resolve disputes, maintain accurate ledgers and meet legal obligations.

When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it, de-identify it or securely expire it from active systems. Backup copies may remain for a limited rotation period.

09

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, restricted administration, network protections, backups, logging and secure transport where supported. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

You should protect your Microsoft account, use a strong unique password and never share authentication codes. Contact us promptly if you believe NookSMP information connected to you has been compromised.

10

Children and young players

NookSMP is intended for Minecraft players with a valid account. Young players should use the services with parent or guardian awareness and permission. A parent or guardian may contact us about a child's information or purchase.

We do not knowingly request more personal information from a child than is reasonably needed to provide and protect the service.

11

Access, correction and deletion

You may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion where continued retention is not required. We may need to verify account control before acting.

Some information cannot be deleted immediately where it is needed for security, fraud prevention, financial records, dispute handling, the rights of others or legal compliance. We will explain a refusal or limitation where required.

12

Complaints and choices

You may use in-game settings to control available social, privacy and notification features. You can stop future collection by no longer using the services, subject to records that must be retained.

Privacy questions or complaints may be sent to netherite@nooksmp.net. Include enough detail for us to investigate. We will aim to acknowledge and respond within a reasonable period. If applicable Australian privacy law gives you a right to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, you may do so after giving us an opportunity to address the concern.

13

Data incidents

If a data incident occurs, we will investigate, contain and assess it. Where required, affected individuals and relevant regulators will be notified in accordance with applicable law.

14

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy as services, providers or legal obligations change. The effective date will be updated and material changes may be announced through official NookSMP channels.
